There are cancer ribbon colors available for almost every type of cancer. It is common knowledge that similar ribbons are also used to support the cause of AIDS. For AIDS the color is red as red symbolizes passion. There were other similar ribbons with colors used to support causes prior to this. In the US people used to wear yellow ribbons if one of their family member had gone off to war. It showed how much they miss them and their support for his patriotism.
